Chasing a smell

Under the sink i our kitchen we have the garbage bag. From there it comes a smell. Not to bad one but annoying. A little like sour cream gone bad.
After amputating some Masonite boards:


I think that I have located the source:


The pipe connection looks suspiciously wet and dark.

I also found some strange coins while I was cleaning around.
